Kayla's Profile

German and Tigers and Gravy, oh my!
Kayla has led an eventful life so far in her fourteen years, from learning a foreign language fluently to cuddling up with exotic animals. She is close with her family and has developed a bond between her and her grandfather, as well as being just as close with her immediate family. She rescues animals and is an obvious lover of cats—cats who just so happen to have wild names—and enjoys spending her time with the mewling bundles of joy. Kayla story is special because it’s hers, so let’s just dive right in.
Kayla has many talents, but one of her most notable is that she is fluent in German. As we well know, German is a harsh language and seems difficult to learn, but Kayla has accomplished this from the help of her grandfather. Her grandfather was originally from Germany, so naturally, his native language is German or Deutsch. Kayla informed me that every time she would visit her elder, that he would give her little lessons in the language. She knew next to nothing at first, but gradually the language began to stick. Although, I did ask her to tell me something in German, she didn’t want too. After a while all I got out from her was how to say the number eleven. And for those who are curious about what that translation is, the number eleven is elf in German. Strange word for a number but, hey, I didn’t create the language. Lastly, she has retained this language, and has added it to her arsenal of talents.

Kayla also has a love of animals, and the name of her cat is Gravy. When asked why she named the cat Gravy, she answered by explaining that the cat has a white underbelly—like mashed potatoes—and a light brown coating on top—like gravy. She informed me that after they called him this, the name just stuck and was a perfect fit for the animal.

  5. The writing for this article has a great flow and kept me engaged in it the whole way through. You went into great detail with the German portion of the article and wrote that perfectly. Saying that she cuddles up with exotic animals though was an interesting thing to just state then leave, that could have been an interesting paragraph.
